Data East Corporation released Mad Rider in Japan in the fall on 1980. At approximately the same time the company also released the DECO Cassette System and ported the game to run on that, renaming it to Highway Chase. The game was also released under the name Mad Alien outside of Japan adding to the confusion. Interestingly, all games say Mad Alien on the title screen.

Even though both systems share the same 60 pin connector, this adapter works only with the dedicated game PCB cage, and not the DECO Cassette System version of the game. For the cassette version, please see the DECO Cassette System to JAMMA adapter page.

This adapter was tested with both genuine DECO version of Mad Alien. A bootleg version apprarently exists, but it’s unlike to be compatibe.
