This is a battery operated signal generator / tester for VGA monitors. It intended to be taken on the road to test old VGA monitors, whether it’s for touchscreen countertop games, or old PCs.
It supports the 15.7kHz video mode (320×240 non-vga standard) to help you find those elusive LCD panels that can be used for console and arcade gaming natively, as well as the more common 31kHz (640x480), 38kHz (800x600) vga modes.

- Negative VSYNC

15kHz – 320x240 CGA/EGA resolution

Battery Life

About 3 hours battery life on a good quality CR2032 (depending on the pattern / type of use / monitor)

VGA Video Tester Features and Additional Information

Battery life indicator shows battery status through MODE LED.
  • LED always on – full battery
  • Duration of on/off cycle indicates battery depletion level
  • 50% off/on blink – nearly dead

To operate the dongle, plug it directly into the monitor side VGA port and turn in on. Press the MODE button to cycle through the available video modes, and TEST to cycle through the tests.

The tester itself will only plug into the female DB-15 jack on the back of your monitor. In order to use a typical VGA cable (male ends), you will need the optional gender changer which you can order with the tester.
